Not much to talk about

There isn't really anything going on on the house front, my field is still a field.  Rob (our builder) is working on the building permit. Since he normally builds in the next county over he is assuming it to take a little longer than normal just to be safe.

Work has been hectic to say the least.  We are understaffed (3-4 current positions open, 2 are critical) and overworked (only complaining about the understaffed). We have one really great candidate for one of the critical positions so hopefully that will pan out.  I have been working 12 hour shifts, but the good thing is the overtime is being comped in time off. Anyone else thinking week off to move in? I am!!

TJ has been working in Delaware lately, I miss having someone warm in my bed, but I love that he's bringing home about $400 extra per paycheck in per diem pay.  Unfortunately there may be few jobs coming up :(

I am a list fanatic.  I can not stand having things undone, decisions unmade, or options not picked.  So even though I probably won't be moving in until Labor Day, I am still thinking about all the details.  I have decided to get a friend from college to make announcements (Here's my new address!).  She is the wife of one of my trainers from college and has her own magazine, a GORGEOUS little girl, and also does ads/web design on the side. I was thinking about also including a note asking for friends/family to send their favorite go to recipe.

I am building my gift registry also. No house to put anything in, but a girl can dream :) Most likely this will only go to close family (mom, f-mil&f-grandmil, brother, etc.) and a few family friends. It is more just to figure out the things that I need/want/gotta have. I am a coupon nut, so having a list will help me look for the best prices, coupons to use at store, and when things go on sale.

I have finally jumped on the band wagon and am now on Pinterest.  Haven't put anything up but I'm sure I will start shortly with boards for each room.

Only real house news as of right now: we got the appraisal back that was done on the plans/plot and it came in a little low which we were expecting.  It came in at $275,000 and our contract price is at $281,000.  I'm not bothered at all by this.  Our land is larger than all but one of the comparables and our sqft is larger than all.  We are on the high end of our neighborhood, so if I ever decide for resale I should be ok.  We also removed our financing requirement.  I am doing a cash offer vs financing so I needed to ensure that the check would clear the bank (from one account to another).  Because we didn't want to loose this house to someone else we put in the contract with a contingency that I would remove the financing requirement within 21 days.  Well yesterday was day 21, and requirement removed :) Now I need to set up a second savings account to transfer money to because it freaks me out having more than the FDIC insured amount in one account.

Since there is nothing to post pictures of today enjoy the randoms :)

This was taken at my oldest brothers (far right) wedding 2 years ago. I love this picture.  Jay (oldest brother) was in a full hard shell back brace from fracturing his spine 1 month prior to this, he had to borrow blues from a larger officer :)
My boy :) He's big, he's clumsy, he's afraid of mice. I love him. Meet Rex, he's a 6 year old German Shepherd.  He is also a Police Dog School reject (literally).  This picture is about 3 years old, he still hasn't grown into his ears.
